Duke: First Sergeant, E-8 (Army first sergeant): Duke is equipped with a backpack, a helmet, and M-32 submachine gun. Well-rounded and charismatic, Duke is fluent in a handful of foreign languages. Duke turned down a commission, nobly citing an inability on his part to “impel others to take the risks” and later became the Acting First Sergeant of the GI Joe team.
Gung-Ho: Marine, E-7 (Marine gunnery sergeant): Displaying his Marine chest tattoo with due reverence, Gung-Ho is muscular and armed with a XM-76 grenade launcher. A tough-skinned Cajun, Gung-Ho pretty much perfected the art of pounding an adversary into a pile of wet pumpkin guts before joining the Marines at the age of 18.
Roadblock: Heavy Machine Gunner, E-4 (Army corporal): Roadblock is armed with a M-2 Browning .50 caliber machine gun w/ tripod. Roadblock, a would-be gourmet chef, was recruited to become an army chef only to become disheartened by army cuisine; this disenchantment caused Roadblock to transfer to infantry.
Scarlett: Counter-Intelligence, E-5 (Army sergeant): Good grief. This is probably the best-ever version of Scarlett. Clad in her classic uniform, she features a superior face sculpt and a red ponytail. Scarlett is armed with a black XK-1 power crossbow. Like any other girl, Scarlett apparently spent the bulk of her childhood and teenage years honing her martial arts skills before earning her first black belt and then graduating Ranger School.
Snake Eyes: Commando, E-5 (Army sergeant): Maybe the jewel in the 25th Anniversary GI Joe 5-Pack crown, Snake Eyes is armed with a black Uzi pistol, equipped with a backpack of explosives, and clad in gear and fatigues as black as a raven’s wing. Snake Eyes is skilled in a wide array of fighting styles and is trained to survive virtually any elemental extreme. Snake Eyes really can tear your heart from your chest and show it to you before you die, die, die!
