Luke’s Snowspeeder is made of plastic and die-cast, and includes a mounting arc and a Star Wars insignia display base. The wind-blasted Snowspeeder is pitted with a somewhat darkened hull. Geared to the extreme winds and subzero temperatures of the Hoth environment, the flat compact two-man vessel was equipped with dual cannons.
Probably the deepest notch in the Snowspeeder belt is the result of Skywalker’s stunt during the opening battle from The Empire Strikes Back. The Imperials had launched their devastating assault, reinforced by destructive elephantine AT-AT walkers. The walkers were literally crushing Rebel foxhole positions and downed vessels like dandelion blooms. Skywalker ends up latching a towline onto one of the walkers and then spirals the line continuously, tangling the walker’s legs and sending it crashing chin-first into the snow.
