These 3” plastic/die-cast figures are well-detailed, featuring limited articulation and faction-insignia display bases. Rodimus’ depiction corresponds with his Gen 1 animated counterpart. Rodimus displays his flame-chased classic colors, reminding those around him of his more reckless former self. The spoiler-fringed Rodimus is armed with what is presumably a blunted silver-colored version of his photon eliminator.
Originally Hot Rod blundered his way through most of Transformers: The Movie, eventually being chosen by the Matrix and upgraded into Rodimus Prime. After the movie, Rodimus held command for a while until the red-hazed Hate Plague emerged and necessitated the resurrection of Optimus Prime. During Energon, Rodimus was a more mature and agenda-oriented warrior, representing another stellar-traveling faction of Autobots. Rodimus’ Classics profile provides him with a description a little nearer to Hot Rod. Young and impetuous, his determination puts an effective edge on his inexperience.
