Mounted to a curved base with the Battlestar Galactica presented in raised silver letters, the ’78 Viper has a reasonably simplified shape. The pyramid-stacked engine thrusters are encapsulated within the framework of the slanting wings and dorsal fin. The off-white hull of the Viper is lightly weathered---providing peripheral images of dogfights with emotionless Raiders.
The Vipers were launched through a light-studded slingshot, hurled headlong into the void, dispatched to vanguard the Galactica against dark vacuous swarms of Cylon Raiders. The Vipers varied between space and atmospheric flight. Generally the Viper discharged a double blast. Usually, lengthy Viper engagements called for pithy cockpit communiqué between the helmeted Warriors.
