Now with the name Bumblebee back on the roster, it is apparently the ideal time for a really inspired version of the character. Upgraded to the Deluxe Class, Bumblebee also features a modified vehicle mode complete with streamlined trailer and jet ski accessories. In robot mode, he’s got a kind of simplified Alternators design, and the add-on attachments are seemingly redistributed into a pair of glider wings.
Bumblebee was the plucky sprat of the original Autobot crew, loyal, kind-hearted, and well-balanced as a soldier. In the cartoon, Bumblebee formed a friendship with Spike that transferred into Spike’s adulthood. During Transformers: The Movie, both Spike and Bumblebee were temporarily gobbled by a moon-devouring Unicron. Bumblebee’s Classics profile emphasizes the courage that outweighs his size deficit, and also states that Bumblebee is configured for aerial and underwater missions.
