This is a Thundercracker designed more in accordance with his Dreamwave-inspired Cybertronian appearance. He comes with a mechanically-styled base complete with Thundercracker’s name and raised Decepticon insignia. In jet mode, he seems vaguely sharklike, with backswept wings and an accentuated dorsal fin. The murky yellow cockpit bubble is overlapped by a honeycomb design. In robot mode he looks well-articulated. The disposition of his wing plates in robot mode almost gives him an insectoid semblance.
In the Dreamwave continuity, both Thundercracker and Skywarp had confrontations with Grimlock. Later, Thundercracker and Skywarp were among the elite warriors that Megatron selected for his crew on the Nemesis. Almost any background source imparts a faint reluctance to Thundercracker in that he’s not completely convinced of the Decepticon cause. This inability to dedicate his entire existence seems to undermine his overall abilities in some cases. In Transformers: The Movie, a slightly different continuity than the Dreamwave version, Thundercracker is among those Decepticon jettisoned from Astrotrain, which ultimately leads to Thundercracker’s transformation into Decepticon super-soldier Scourge at the hands of Unicron.
