This guy looks wicked, definitely one of the coolest Autobots in the Alternators line. Superior head sculpt, cool gun, and an apparent high level of articulation. Though the car type is different, the color scheme is somewhat darkly reminiscent of the Gen 1 Mirage.
On the show, Mirage, though sometimes a more peripheral character, was cool; he had that stealth mode that enabled him to board a Decepticon vessel. Mirage took part in that job where the Autobots captured and impersonated the Stunticons. This required a lot of magic disguise work on the Autobots’ part, but the subterfuge held even as far as the fake Stunticons achieving a superficial Menasor mode---which was assisted by Mirage’s hologram and a magnetism structure provided by Windcharger.
Mirage will be one of several Gen 1 Autobot tributes to adorn the Alternators line, which has admittedly started to become just a little too Decepticon-deficient. Still, the Autobots seem to be getting better and better. Despite his fighting prowess, Mirage is more of a lover as opposed to a fighter. He enjoys preening in his car mode. But when the chips are down, Mirage is as reliable as any of his noble cohorts.
