Scrapmetal is the red variation on the drone race of scavengers that have descended to Cybertron in concert with the black hole. Possibly they were displaced from other world or dimension and are now left to harvest Cybertron for various sustenance and materials, but either way their Decepticon affiliation, either with Megatron or even Starscream, is pretty much N/A. The Cybertronian Defense Team tangled with these guys initially.
In ‘vehicle’ mode Scrapmetal is a kind of mech assault monstrosity, a tank with the large cannon overhead and side-mounted spider legs beneath. Cyber Key function enables the massive Energon bayonet stored inside the cannon shaft. In robot mode, Scrapmetal carries the cannon on a rotating shoulder plate. He has an insect face with piping to light the eyes. His arms vary between standard appendages and massive jackhammers similar to those of Gen 1 Rumble and Frenzy. VERY cool.
