Of the Decepticon ‘monsters’ released by Starscream, Thunderblast and Lugnutz were the only ones to get any real play. Lugnutz, left behind on Earth, used to spend his time taunting superstitious rubes, until he was overpowered and imprisoned by Crosswise. From there, his luck got even worse. He used all of his “A” material and still got nowhere with his fellow prisoner Thunderblast. The world just passed him by, until Starscream finally came knocking.
Another worthy contribution to the Scout class, Lugnutz has a weird, unconventional transformation mode, almost like something you’d see among the Mini-con ranks. Beginning with his motorcycle mode, he evolves into an oddly-constructed robot with the motorcycle frame/wheels serving as his back plate and shoulders, and his head is hidden inside the frontward tank. By use of his Cyber Key function, he accesses the gun joined with his oil container.
