After his duel with young Anakin, Count Dooku ended up looking like he’d just come out second best in a round of Time Killers, so General Grievous inherited a higher rung in the chain of command. Now he was only answerable to secret Sith boss Palpatine, but on the battlefield, he was pretty much running the show.
Grievous was reasonably difficult to catch or kill, because of his craven Daffy Duck penchant for self-preservation and because he was a high-powered cybernetic organism. He tried to avoid direct confrontation, preferring to use his droid stooges or his hardcore staff-twirling bodyguards. Once he did get down to a good dust-up, he was pretty efficient. His robotic body gave him increased strength and durability, extreme flexibility, and four prehensile arms. Plus, he had his “collection” of lightsabers strung up like stolen watches inside his cape.
Either way, Obi-Wan did eventually lure Grievous into a fight and ended up using the full spectrum of his ponderous Jedi abilities to grab a blaster pistol and shoot Grievous at the center of his exposed organs like 67 times.
