The Clone Troopers were clones of Jango Fett, advanced-aged, made reasonably command-malleable and then utilized to fight the Confederacy of Independent Systems. These guys were generated to fight under the Jedi warriors and that kind of thing. They were given armor reminiscent of Jango’s armor, which would eventually become the more skull faced look of the Stormtrooper.
The Clones fought pretty well, were reasonably disciplined, but unfortunately they were all implanted with the switch that would eventually be flipped once the Emperor came off with the nefarious Order 66. At that point, the clones abruptly turned on their leaders, taking out a whole large swath of the Jedi warriors in one fell swoop.
The Clones trimmed in yellow like this guy here are Commanders, given their own regiments of more Clones. Accordingly, they’re given a slightly higher level of free thought and autonomy. But, unfortunately, these guys were as prone to the destructive Order 66 glitch as any lower-ranking Clone.
