Shockblast, tribute to Shockwave, is one of the shinier jewels in the Energon crown. Oh yeah, baby, this guy is the backbone of any respectable Decepticon regiment. Shockblast is a perfect villain, but he does have a sensitive side, and is always on the lookout for love and understanding. On the outside, he is darkly sinister, with the single eye lighted by translucent piping. Unlike Shockwave, however, Shockblast is more of a renegade than a scientist and sentinel. He made his appearance during the last episodes of Energon, joining up with Megatron right after his destructive and murderous jailbreak on Cybertron. He was disliked by his fellow Decepticons. Near the end, in the process of trying to usurp Megatron's power, he absorbed Unicron's essence and was ultimately destroyed by his ravening ambitions.
He's a large figure, heavy, durable. A triple-changer, he converts from tank to military-style satellite to robot. As a tank, he's a rolling rectangular platform built to transport the one gigantic gun, which is set into a pivoting socket. In satellite mode, the tank treads branch outwards and chromed-gold solar panels open up. Robot mode is the most impressive. A would-be conqueror and demolition enthusiast, Shockblast is accordingly well articulated. Neck, shoulders, elbow, waist and hips. Most of the joints are ratcheted, which keeps them in good working order. His head carries a flat sweep, with the single eye set behind a shadowing, outcropping rim. Energon armor plates are mounted to his chest and back. His right arm is overlapped by a hinged shield-plate. The gigantic gun serves him as a left arm, a weapon nearly as long as his whole body, fixed with a collar of outward-sweeping energon prongs near the end of the barrel. He comes equipped with a firing missile and sound effects, and also comes equipped with a very high recommendation.
