Prior to becoming the baron administrator of Cloud City, Lando wins the Millenium Falcon in a game of Sabacc and then loses the ship to fellow smuggler Han Solo in a subsequent game. He joins Solo in a venture, proposed venture by Bria Tharen of the Red Hand Squadron, to plunder the Hutts’ coffers and to liberate the slaves on the world of Ylesia. Solo is double-crossed by Bria Tharen and erroneously vilified in the eyes of Lando Calrissian. Later, in The Empire Strikes Back, once Lando is the ruler of Bespin, He initially welcomes the fugitive Solo and then betrays him to Darth Vader. In the aftermath he sides with the Rebel Alliance, assisting in Solo’s rescue from the palace of Jabba the Hutt and later participating in the Battle of Endor.
