Clash of the Titans Busts are 5 to 6 inch tall sculptures atop marble column-style bases. Scheduled for release in July 2008, the Clash of the Titans Bust Three-Pack is limited to 500 pieces. The Clash of the Titans set includes the following:
Calibos, Son of Thetis: Clad in a blue tunic, Calibos is a vile satyr-like creature. The arrogant and self-entitled offspring of the Goddess of the Sea, Calibos lived a seemingly charmed existence until he angered Zeus by exploiting the Wells of the Moon and slaughtering Zeus’ beloved winged horses. Zeus transformed Calibos into a twisted monstrosity, driving Calibos into the swamp wastes outlying the city of Joppa and ruining his engagement to the beautiful Andromeda.
Medusa, the Gorgon: Medusa is sheathed in a green scales, her head fringed by a squirming mass of red and ocher-colored serpents. The once-beautiful Medusa was transformed by Aphrodite into a grotesque serpent-bodied monster whose gaze was capable of turning any man to stone. Arriving on the Isle of the Dead, Medusa’s realm, Perseus beheads the Gorgon in order to turn her gaze against the Kraken.
The Kraken: The last of the Titans, the Kraken is a slithering leviathan with multiple appendages. Imprisoned in the dark ocean depths, the Kraken is released and unleashed to take the manacled Andromeda as a virginal sacrifice, by which time Andromeda, in order to save the city of Joppa, is more or less resigned to her fate. Fortunately, Perseus, returning from his arduous quest, arrives at the crucial instant to transfix the Kraken with the petrifying gaze of Medusa’s severed head.
