Mounted to a snow-frozen environmental base, the Han Solo on Tauntaun Statue will stand 13” tall. Solo is buttoned to the gills in his Hoth gear, his high-intensity visor tilted up against the fur trim of his Eskimo-style hood. Ensconced at a saddle crowded with field provisions, he sits atop his fur-covered Tauntaun mount. The Tauntaun, a piquant kangaroo-like creature with a camel snout and thickly inverted horns, is somewhat callused against its harsh Hoth surroundings and sure-footed even despite the treacherous ice. As far as the pithy Hoth tourist circle goes, the peaceful omnivorous Tauntaun is the only way to travel. Choice (B) would be a ravening flesh-eating Wampa Snow Creature, and it would require far more than a Jedi mind trick to slap a saddle onto that particular critter.
Solo has ridden out into deadly frozen night because his friend and Rebel compatriot, Luke Skywalker, has run afoul of one of the aforementioned Snow Creatures. The Wampa has pummeled young Skywalker severely and dragged him into an ice-pillared feeding warren. Solo intends to find and rescue Skywalker, but the work is difficult, given that the cold is so severe that even the poor Tauntaun succumbs to it. Managing to survive the night, Solo continues on, hoping against hope that the frozen night has been a slightly kinder mistress to the missing Skywalker.
