Standing at 13” tall, the Royal Guard Stature succeeds completely in conveying the ominous and taciturn presence of the Emperor’s Satan-hued bodyguards. The guard seems to loom in place, his ceremonial stance as rigid as that of the pike he brandishes. The robotic featurelessness of the conical helmet is interrupted only by the narrow black visor, the helmet’s gorget mingling almost indistinguishably with the overlapping fold of the voluminous red cloak.
The Royal Guards were among the super-elite of the Stormtrooper ranks, additionally selected according to size and strength and at least some degree of force sensitivity. They are trained in a wide array of weapons and fighting styles, and are slightly augmented for physical superiority. Once the rank of Royal Guard is attained, the tests to determine fitness, durability and resourcefulness are ongoing---even to the degree that the Royal Guards are encouraged to engage in death duels among themselves. Those who excelled and evolved, surviving the rigorous tests and advancing through natural selection, might eventually aspire to become Sovereign Protectors.
