Initially too shy to approach him, she goes to great lengths to escape from the overprotective clutches of Dr. Finklestein in order to watch Jack from a distance. She attempts to dissuade Jack’s plan to become surrogate Santa Claus, eventually falling into the malignant clutches of Oogie Boogie alongside the captured Santa Claus.
