Shorty is identified by a by oversized ears, a doughy smile, a shock of green hair, and a baggy yellow jumpsuit with a blue fringe collar. Shorty is representative of an alien race of clown-like creatures that travel to Earth in a space-borne circus tent, the latter of which serves as a staging ground for the Killer Klowns’ infiltration of the otherwise austere town of Crescent Cove. The Klowns make skillful use of their unassumingly facetious appearance, luring many of their victims into range and implementing weapons such as shadow animals and balloon dogs. The Klowns are equipped with jocular guns that allow them to ensnare human prey inside cotton candy cocoons; the harvested victims are taken aboard the Killer Klowns’ space vessel, and are ultimately converted into gooey sustenance that is ingested by the Klowns via crazy straws.
