Succeeding in crippling an exhausted, overextended Batman, Bane later meets his own defeat at the hands of the heavily armored Azrael Batman. In the course of resultant imprisonment, the Venom-deprived Bane becomes fat and lethargic before regaining his strength and discipline, ultimately resolving to abandon the use of Venom altogether.
