These fully-authorized, hand-painted lead figurines are sculpted by master craftsmen and based on original pieces of Marvel artwork. Each 3 1/2" figurine is individually numbered, comes stamped with the Marvel official logo, and comes packaged in its own box. The accompanying 16-page magazine provides a detailed history and background on the featured character, including exclusive images and interviews. The fabulous characters featured this month are Magik (#166), The Beetle (#167), and Shanna the She-Devil (#168).
Discontented by his tedious existence, Abner Jenkins created a mechanized strength-augmenting armor with suction-fingered gauntlets and flight-capable wings. Calling himself the Beetle, he intended to gain renown by defeating the Fantastic Four. However, he failed in the task and was incarcerated. A subsequent attempt to revenge himself against the Human Torch placed the Beetle in opposition of Spider-Man. Later misadventures pitted the Beetle against Daredevil, Iron Man, and the Avengers. A string of defeats ultimately prompted the Beetle to create a new, more powerful suit of armor, with Spider-Man’s moves programmed into the armor’s onboard computer.
