The Blackest Night Collection is a new magazine series that expands upon the award-winning DC Comics Super Hero Collection. Aimed at fans of DC Comics and, in particular, the Green Lantern milieu, the Blackest Night Collection will focus on DC Comics' 2009-2010 event, the critically-acclaimed Blackest Night and its follow-up Brightest Day. Each figurine will be a highly-detailed replica of the character at approximately 1/21-scale. Each sculpt will be based on the Blackest Night version of the character. Begin your collection with Black Hand (#1) or the Red Lantern Atrocitus (#2).
The skull-faced Atrocitus is dressed in his Red Lantern uniform, complete with a framework of neck neck/shoulder armor, and is equipped with a red power lantern. Leader of the Red Lantern Corps, Atrocitus is one of the five survivors of the massacre of Sector 666. He converts the blood of the Five Inversions into a means of harnessing the red spectrum of the light, the result of which was the Red Power Ring, a manifestation of unrelenting rage and hatred for both the Green Lanterns and the Sinestro Corps alike. Following the Sinestro Corps War, Atrocitus fixates on the death of Sinestro and builds the Red Lantern Corps with like-minded recruits.
