Made of metal, the patriotically-themed Captain America Adult 23” Deluxe Shield Replica is designed to accompany a Captain America costume. Originally conceived as a weak specimen augmented and reconstituted by the experimental Super Soldier Serum, Captain America fought for the cause during WWII. Following a period of suspended animation, Captain America was reintroduced to the world. Captain America’s original triangular shield, serving as both a symbol and an armament, was replaced with the nearly indestructible circular shield. Construction of the latter was a singular freak occurrence derived from multiple attempts by metallurgist Dr. Myron MacLain to fuse Wakanda-indigenous Vibranium with an experimental alloy. The Vibranium benefits Captain America by absorbing the majority of any kinetic impact directed against it, and enables the shield, when hurled, to strike multiple opponents in a single swipe.
