Wolverine & Sabretooth: Clad in his blue and yellow costume, Wolverine features brandished Adamantium claws; a mutant ability to regenerate enabled Wolverine to survive an experimental procedure in which his skeleton was completely sheathed in Adamantium and his forearms fitted with retractable claws. Sabretooth is clad in his fur-collared contemporary costume; a longstanding rival to Wolverine also associated with the Weapon X program, Sabretooth has a mutant regenerative healing factor similar to Wolverine’s, which, apart from somewhat arresting the aging process, has apparently known varying degrees of effectiveness.
Green Goblin & Spider-Man: The Green Goblin is equipped with a pumpkin bomb, and is accompanied by his trademark Goblin Glider; the Green Goblin was the result of an unstable, previously untested performance enhancing compound which imparted insanity along with heightened strength, speed and reflexes. Spider-Man is wearing his classic red and blue costume; bitten by a radioactive super-spider, Spider-Man is imbued with enhanced strength, speed and reflexes, and the precognitive spider-sense which grants him an advantage against most super villains.
Captain America & Thor: Wearing his classic patriotically-themed uniform, Captain America is equipped with his trademark shield; deemed unfit for duty during WWII, Steve Rogers was selected for the experimental Super Soldier program. Appearing in his classic costume, Thor is equipped with Mjolnir accessory; the Mighty Thor embodies a number of admirable qualities, although his lack of humility prompted Odin to join Thor’s essence with that of the infirmed mortal Donald Blake.
Iron Man & the Thing: Iron Man is clad in his classic red and yellow armor, and can be fitted with a rocket boot projection; modified numerous times even prior to Iron Man’s association with the Avengers, the classic armor, encompassing transistor and magnetic repulsor technology, provides Tony Stark with damage-resistance, vastly heightened strength, flight capability and a variety of powerful onboard weapons. The Thing is the result of a bombardment of cosmic rays which transformed him completely, sheathing his body in an orange organic rock-like substance and providing him with drastically heightened strength which has been subsequently intensified by additional mutations and extensive training.
