In the course of reconnaissance, Solo attacked and inadvertently initiated the self-destruction of an Imperial Probe Droid. Later, learning that Luke Skywalker had failed to return from his scouting route, Han Solo rode out into the frozen wastes, under cover of night, to recover his friend.
