Star Trek: The Original Series Cloth Retro Series 07: Set of Sulu & Gorn are 8” reproductions utilizing original Mego sculpts and featuring fabric costumes and character-specific accessories. Clad in an orange shirt with black pants, Sulu is equipped with a phaser and a Tricorder. Clad in a ragged tunic, the Gorn captain is a green-skinned reptile creature with insectoid eyes. The Gorn is a vast improvement over the original Mego version in that this version is actually crafted to resemble the menacing life form from the episode “Arena”. In the course of the Enterprise’s pursuit of a Gorn vessel, both ships are captured and held in stasis by the Metrons. Captain Kirk and the Gorn captain are transported to a neutral wasteland planet to fight a duel that will decide the fate of both the Enterprise and the Gorn vessel. Though the Gorn is slow-moving, Kirk soon realizes that his adversary is immensely strong and is immune to conventional physical attack. Kirk is forced to retreat, in the hopes of assembling a weapon strong enough to damage his mawkish, sinister adversary.
