Responsible for the Inferno crossover, the Goblin Queen faced off against the X-Men, and had earlier appeared in Sivestri’s Fall of the Mutants Story arc. Sculpted by Sam Greenwell.
Adorned by funerary lingerie and the voluminous wingspan of a shroudlike cloak, the Goblin Queen is poised voluptuously atop a foundation of gnarled stalactites. The Goblin Queen is defensively flanked by a pair of purple-skinned hip-high demons. Allied with malignant forces and twisted into a dark villainess with demonic powers, the Goblin Queen holds sway over a number of gruesome and ghastly minions.
The Goblin Queen originated with the Jean Grey clone, Madelyne Prior; this alternate identity came about after Madelyne’s dormant telepathic and telekinetic arsenal was awakened by the demons S’ym and N’astirh. As Goblin Queen she boasted the aforementioned telepathic and telekinetic abilities wildly bolstered by a foundation of black magic. The Goblin Queen heralded the Inferno, a crossover process of demon invasion in the course of which the Goblin Queen pitted X-Factor against the X-Men.
