The Serenity: River Triumphant Statue stands 7” tall and is set in scale with the Serenity action figures. Armed with sword and axe, a ragged green dress clinging to her slender frame, the deceptively waifish River stands calf-deep in a pile of butchered Reavers. Her frenzy is the result of a massive psychosis inflicted upon her by means of torturous experimentations. Other than that, she’s a really nice girl.
At age 14 River Tam was recruited by The Academy under false pretences and subjected to varyingly horrifying procedures designed to hone her into a super-assassin. Alienated from her parents and her brother, she was driven to extremes of insanity and her emotions were scoured to the point of uncontrollability. Somewhere along the way she developed embryonic telepathic and clairvoyant abilities. Eventually her brother, Simon, managed to smuggle her to safety in cryogenic freeze, though unfortunately by that time her numerous psychotic disorders were a separate ball of wax, requiring Simon’s nearly constant medical attention.
