These sets each include the respective individually boxed figure, measuring around 4” tall, as well as a 20 page magazine with an illustrated history of the character. This is a more classic and restrained version of Venom, sleeker and more symmetrical with a more modest span to the tongue-looped outcropping jaw, mounted to a black base imprinted with the Marvel insignia.
Venom was born when Spider-Man’s symbiotic black suit, abandoned and heartbroken, came into contact with an equally crestfallen Eddie Brock. Brock’s journalism career was in shambles and he blamed Spider-Man for everything. The suit was equally morbidly obsessed with Spider-Man, so when the two came together it was like peanut butter and chocolate. The suit gave Brock strength comparable to that of Spider-Man---along with organic webbing, heightened reflexes and even its own diluted version of spider-sense. Still, the two of them formed an abstract and warped psyche, and when Venom finally emerged he distinguished himself as a kind of neutral party, not a superhero though not necessarily a supervillain either. Just a guy with one or two character flaws. Mainly he just did what he could to torture and inconvenience Spider-Man.
