These sets each include the respective individually boxed figure, measuring around 4” tall, as well as a 20 page magazine with an illustrated history of the character. This is a rendition of Wolverine with the narrower mask and the yellow and blue costume. He stands in profile with his forearm-mounted claws extended, mounted to a grey base imprinted with the Marvel insignia.
Originating as a character called Weapon X, Wolverine launched his test run in the company of the Hulk and Wendigo. A mutant ability to regenerate had allowed for the experimental procedure in which his skeleton had been sheathed in Adamantium and his forearms fitted with retractable claws. Later, his rakish superhero image would solidify and he would be among a wave of reinforcements to join the beleaguered X-Men. Over time, Wolverine’s character became more pronounced, introducing his recurrent berserker rage and providing shadowy glimpses of an ambiguous past.
