They show snippets of Freddy and his construction of his primary weapon in the opening scenes of the first movie, a ragged glove overlapped with jointed metal plates weld-joined with razor-sharpened knife blades.
It is assumed that shortly thereafter, Freddy was finally discovered and arrested after taking an unspecified number of children to the boiler room of the condemned power plant where he performed the worst of his sadistic deeds. Still, he managed to beat the charges, and most likely intended to get back to business, but then a mob of outraged parents showed up and burned Freddy to death.
Somehow he managed to survive his death and reincarnate in the dream world. Now he was a charred slimy corpse with his razor glove still intact. He began striking out at teenagers, those of Elm Street whenever feasible, through their dreams. At the end of the first movie, young, pretty Nancy put a serious thrashing on Freddy, drawing him into the real world where she could inflict physical damage, but of course Freddy managed to survive, going on to do a whole gauntlet of sequels.
Now, Freddy’s glove is iconic just like Jason’s hockey mask, or Leatherface’s dead skin mask, or like Michael Bolton’s mullet. This prop replica is pretty accurate to the movie version. Good for removing the corn from the cob before you eat, or for chopping up zucchini. A word of warning: ALWAYS use your OTHER hand to pick your nose.
