The Matrix of Leadership statue will include a light-up feature, Key to Vector Sigma accessory, and a hand-numbered optional base. Physically, the Matrix follows a lyrically simple design---a golden sphere with a meteoric core, mounted with grasping bracket, mounted atop a mechanized pylon cradle emblazoned with the Autobot insignia.
During Transformers: The Movie, the Matrix incapacitated Unicron, shattering his destiny, transforming Hot Rod to Rodimus Prime in the process. Later during the ongoing reign of Rodimus Prime the Matrix eradicated the red-hazed Hate Plague, expending its accumulated knowledge in the process. Either way, the best work of the Matrix is apparently always signaled by the feel good hit “The Touch” by mega-star Stan Bush. One general consensus states that an Autobot meant to harness the Matrix will be physically altered in the process, as were the cases with Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime. In the Beast Wars continuity, Optimus Primal was converted to Optimal Optimus just after carrying the Matrix for a very short time. Poor Ultra Magnus inherited the Matrix, remaining unchanged, and managed to hold it for about the same amount of time that Buster Douglas held the Heavyweight Title. Afterwards, Galvatron got the Matrix and turned it into a necklace, but there was definitely no Stan Bush playing for him.
