The Green Lantern Box Set With Comic includes Hal Jordan, Tomar Re, Abin Sur and the Battle-Damaged Manhunter packaged in a 4-color window box and an exclusive 64-page comic book featuring the following Green Lantern stories: “SOS Green Lantern” from Showcase #22, “Earth's First Green Lantern” from Green Lantern #16, “Corps” from Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn #4, “Flight Delay” from Green Lantern #3, and “Green Lantern Corps” from the pin-up book, Green Lantern Gallery.
Hal Jordan is clad in his classic green and black Green Lantern uniform. Jordan is in the process of testing a flight simulator when the machine is unexpectedly wrenched from its foundation and borne to the site of a crashed space vessel. The vessel’s occupant, a dying alien called Abin Sur, bestows the green power ring to Jordan and provides a vague sketch of Jordan’s role as the Green Lantern of Sector 2814.
Tomar Re is an orange-skinned birdlike critter clad in the classic green and black Green Lantern uniform. Tomar Re had been a friend of Abin Sur, and was subsequently chosen as a correspondent by the power ring when the newly recruited, somewhat overwhelmed Hal Jordan sought information from a fellow member of the Green Lantern Corps. Tomar Re eventually passes his ring along to John Stewart.
Abin Sur is red-skinned humanoid clad in the classic green and black Green Lantern uniform. Originally the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, Abin Sur encountered Legion, and though he managed to avoid the worst of the attack, his space vessel was damaged to an extent that caused him to land on Earth. Fatally wounded, Abin Sur used the green power ring to ferret out a viable successor.
The Battle-Damaged Manhunter, presented in a severe state of disrepair, towers above the other figures in the assortment. A breed of robot originally constructed by the Guardians of the Universe, Manhunters were intended to extol the virtues of the Guardians in the process of policing the galaxy. Eventually, however, the Manhunters were corrupted and stirred to mutiny against their creators. Contemporary versions of the Manhunters have been recruited by the Sinestro Corps.
