Hot from the pages of COUNTDOWN, inspired by the work of Jack Kirby comes the best-loved heroes of the Fourth World Universe: Noble New Genesis residents Orion, Lightray and Mister Miracle, as well as the evil Darkseid, ruler of Apokolips! Each figure features multiple points of articulation and a base.
Mister Miracle: An interminable escape artist, Mister Miracle honed his trade by circumventing the gruesome Granny Goodness’ ‘tough love’ on Apokolips. Eventually, Mister Miracle joined a miniature rebellion, during which time he met Big Barda, and escaped from Apokolips. Mister Miracle traveled to Earth, where he assumed his title from a renowned stage performer and became a superhero.
Orion: Though raised on New Genesis, Orion is mildly disgusted by the fact that he is in fact the offspring of Darkseid. Orion sublimated his discontent by becoming Darkseid’s adversary. Trained to resist his darker impulses and to harness his perpetual rage, the immortal Orion is sustained by vastly augmented strength and stamina. Orion is additionally sustained by his Mother Box.
Lightray: A defender of his home New Genesis, Lightray’s perpetual demeanor is approximate to a crash-course in Dianetics. The chirpy and up-beat Lightray is usually plastered with a beaming semi-mindless smile. Lightray is able to fly at the speed of light, and his primary power involves the manipulation of photons into concussive blasts.
Darkseid: Tyrant ruler of the planet of Apokolips, Darkseid is content to crush his own people with an iron boot but would also enjoy extending his cruel rule to the entire universe. Darkseid is constantly harried by the likes of his son Orion. Additionally, Darkseid’s subsequent non-diplomatic attempts to subjugate Earth have been blocked by the likes of Superman. Darkseid is equipped with a broad arsenal of superhuman attributes and powers such as augmented strength and stamina, but his most efficient weapon is his eye-discharged Omega Effect.
