Mary Marvel derives her powers from the acronym: Selena for grace, Hippolyta for strength, Ariadne for skill, Zephyrus for fleetness, Aurora for beauty and Minerva for wisdom.
Guy Gardner & Kilowog: Guy Gardner was a sort of alternate pick Green Lantern who eventually inherited the power ring. Hailing from the planet of Bolovax Vik, Kilowog became the Green Lantern of Space Sector 674 and eventually settled into a role as instructor on Oa.
Hawkman & Hawkgirl: Hawkman and Hawkgirl are justice-conscious crusaders from Thanagar, the latter planet initially being described as a peaceful and enlightened world. Hawkman and Hawkgirl arrived on Earth in the process of pursuing a villain, and ended up remaining on Earth where they established their superhero identities.
Red Tornado & Ma Hunkel: Red Tornado was an android constructed to infiltrate and undermine the JSA; eventually the Red Tornado assimilated two opposing elemental essences. Ma Hunkel, an earlier Red Tornado, wore a cape and a cooking pot, generating her superhero alter ego as a means of combating the neighborhood criminal element.
