Aquaman is from Atlantis, and being the king of the sea, he has the ability to telepathically corral and control dolphins, giant sea horses, squid and octopi, sponges, kelp, clams and sea cucumbers.
This is the more classic version of Aquaman, before he got genetically spliced with Gregg Allman. In this incarnation, he had basically that same Superfriends look, with the scaled orange shirt and the green tights with the fins. In his capacity as protector of the sea, he often found himself at odds with the likes of Ocean Master or Black Manta. Lesser known villains in the Aquaman pantheon include Anchor Man, Horseshoe Crabman, Captain Cuttlefish, King Crappie and Sea Chicken.
In this case, the towering deluxe Aquaman comes equipped with a rapt expression and his kingly trident. Aside from serving as his symbolic scepter, the trident is used to poach poachers or to keep Aqualad at an acceptable distance. On and off, Aquaman has been a core member of the Justice League, though in later years they seemed to make him a little more aloof and noncooperative.
