The Pod Racer is a modestly-sized repulsorcraft vehicle consisting of an antigravity pod and a pair of outlying turbine engines. During the Boonta Eve Classic, the young Anakin Skywalker, sponsored by Qui-Gon Jinn, used his custom-built Podracer to outdistance several racers before entering the race’s third lap and becoming the direct rival of the race’s favored contestant, Sebulba. Resisting Sebulba’s attempts to sabotage his Podracer, Anakin outmaneuvered Sebulba and caused the latter’s Plug-F Gargantuan Podracer to crash.
