The Official Starships & Vehicles Collection includes intricately detailed vehicle replicas accompanied by illustrated magazines featuring the vehicles’ history, pilot and crew, and technical specifications, as well as information pertaining to Expanded Universe materials. The TIE Advanced x1 was a prototype piloted by Darth Vader during the Battle of Yavin. Manufactured by Sienar Fleet Systems, TIE Advanced was powered by P-s5.6 twin ion engines and was armed with L-s9.3 laser cannons. An elaborate, cost-prohibitive improvement over the standard TIE, the Advanced x1 was furnished with shielding and a small hyperdrive. During the Battle of Yavin, Darth Vader was prevented from gunning down Luke Skywalker’s X-Wing when the Millennium Falcon abruptly attacked, destroying one of Vader’s wingmen and causing the remaining wingman to collide with Vader’s TIE Advanced.
