Transformers Animated Ratchet is equipped with an array of tools/melee weapons that can be stored in his backpack. Ratchet varies between ambulance mode and a robot mode that appears to support articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and ankles. This version of Ratchet features the familiar red and white color scheme, and bears battered traces corresponding with the version from the show. A veteran medic from the time of the Great War, Ratchet is among the oldest of the Autobots; despite the preference for a quieter and less troublesome tour of duty, he serves as second in command to Optimus Prime. Steeped in experience, the world-weary Ratchet is given to mawkish brooding and moldering flashbacks.
