Superman, jettisoned from Krypton as a mere spat, slingshot into Earth’s atmosphere and dead in the center of Smallville. Yes sir, Superman, faster than a speeding bullet, strong enough for a man but made for a woman. Oh mama.
Superman has gone through eight thousand different changes, joined by the ranks of eight hundred different versions of Superman and eight hundred different versions of Kryptonite. One notable scenario involved Superman being faux-killed by a super-evolved Doomsday.
In the new DC Direct line, a highly articulated version of Superman will have plenty of highly articulated company. Doomsday, Bizarro, with Lex Luthor and Brainiac waiting on the horizon. Superman will need every point of articulation, previously unseen in DC figures, to deal with his old pals.
This Superman, like the others in the line, diverges a little from the DC Direct stuff and entered a slightly more Marvel Legends territory, although the scale on the DC Superheroes is just a little lesser than that of the Marvel Legends.
