This version of Jetfire corresponds with The War Within version. Definitely one of the more impressive contributions to the line. He looks to be highly detailed and extremely well articulated. He comes equipped with slender silver dual blaster rifles as well as an Autobot insignia display base. Adorned in his classic colors, the jet mode is sleek and businesslike, with the aerial semblance carrying over heavily into robot mode.
During The War Within (The Dark Ages) Jetfire tentatively presided over a faction of Autobots after Optimus and Megatron were displaced by the Spacebridge. Grimlock, who like Jetfire had defected from Megatron’s ranks to join the Autobots, showed an unspecified animosity towards Jetfire. During this same time The Fallen returned to Cybertron. Intending to perform some weird occult ceremony, The Fallen captured both Jetfire and Grimlock, forcing the two latter to dissuade their grievances and work together. Unlike Grimlock, Jetfire was more of an intellectual science-based type, although he was shown to be more than worthy of a good dust-up.
