War Within Ultra Magnus features a mechanized-looking display base with an Autobot insignia. This version of Magnus is a white repaint of the War Within Optimus Prime. In robot mode he’s sleek and barrel-chested, armed with his massive blaster rifle. In six-wheeled vehicle mode, the rifle is vehicle-mounted. The vehicle itself resembles a more armored and durable version of the Gen 1 Kup vehicle mode.
This is a version of Ultra Magnus disentangled from his bulky super-robot armor to reveal the white Optimus clone beneath---in this case Prime’s six-wheeled mode. One Ultra Magnus storyline involves Shockwave’s consolidation of the Autobot and Decepticons into a single faction. Ultra Magnus becomes a general, temporarily serving under Shockwave’s command. Eventually, Ultra Magnus is attacked by Shockwave, the former sustaining a high level of damage and shedding his ravaged outer armor.
