The Trapjaw 15" Statue is poised along a crumbling staircase, sporting his massive hook appendage. This Trapjaw is more modernized than his previous counterpart. The robotic arm is oversized, joined with a flanking chest plate, the mounting socket overlapped by a blunt-studded shoulder plate. Pincher and blaster cannon are mounted at his hip and back respectively. Trapjaw’s legs and left hand are completely mechanized. His bluish skin is pitted and slashed with thickly-stitched scars. His face is green and desiccated above his blocky prosthetic metal jaw.
In the original cartoon, Trapjaw was something close to a MOTU equivalent of Beavis. The modernized version was slightly more effectual, boasting both a more imposing presence and a more monstrous onboard arsenal. The original Trapjaw’s role as occasional tinkerer and master mechanic was mostly downplayed in favor of Tri-Klops’ scientific acumen. Trapjaw’s modern comic series origin cited him as a charismatic and strategic-minded warrior called Kronis. In the storyline, he was disgusted with Skeletor’s fall from his reign as Keldor. Kronis defected from Snake Mountain and rallied his own army, laying siege to outlying areas before working his way back to Skeletor. Unfortunately, Kronis was no match for Skeletor---Skeletor hobbled Kronis, burned the skin from his face and tore away Kronis’ lower jaw.
