This Deluxe version of Optimus Primal is an entirely redesigned robot, as opposed to the show-accurate Primal released in the BWR-01 Optimus/Megatron Giftset. Additionally, this version is touted as a Cybertron incarnation. He’s a more mechanical looking ape. Shades of brown with a cream-colored underside. The arms look a little more prehensile, with armor plates hinged at the wrists to serve as cestus. In robot mode, he’s faintly reminiscent of the Big Convoy design. Overall he carries a slight leonine bearing, an impression reinforced by his kingly diadem.
Identified as an Autobot rather than a Maximal, Optimus Prime comes equipped with a Jungle Planet Cyber Key. He also comes equipped with a flying platform which doubles as a Cyber Key-activated missile launcher, seemingly similar to the one utilized by the Transmetal version Primus. Presumably this version marks some sort of non-cartoon sideways evolution of the Optimus Prime character intended to correspond with Megatron’s alteration into a T-rex.
