This version of Rodimus looks similar to his Energon counterpart but with slightly more intricate detail and apparent superior articulation. In vehicle mode he’s sleek and flame-chased with an overlapping spoiler. In robot mode, the spoiler provides Rodimus with wings and the exposed motor and flame chase provide the breastplate. He’s equipped with a cylindrical exhaust-firing blaster. The head sculpt features the familiar helmet shape and crescent headpiece.
Originally Hot Rod blundered his way through most of Transformers: The Movie, eventually being chosen by the Matrix and upgraded into Rodimus Prime. After the movie, Rodimus held command for a while until the red-hazed Hate Plague emerged and necessitated the resurrection of Optimus Prime. During Energon, Rodimus was a more mature and agenda-oriented warrior, representing another stellar-traveling faction of Autobots. Rodimus’ Classics profile provides him with as description a little nearer to Hot Rod. Young and impetuous, his determination puts an effective edge on his inexperience.
