Doc Samson acquires his enhanced musculature through exposure to gamma radiation. The trademark green hue attributed to fellow gamma-spawned characters such as the Hulk and the Abomination is limited to Sampson’s distinctive shoulder-length green hair, which enables him to maintain his status as one of the world’s most skilled psychiatrists. Samson’s contemporary level of strength, no longer contingent upon the length of his hair, is approximate to that of the Grey Hulk.
