Avalanche’s mutant power enables him to generate and direct seismic waves with outstretched hands, enabling him to pulverize obstacles such as buildings with the intensity of a localized earthquake. Avalanche is immune to his seismic waves provided that they are not somehow turned against him, and is outfitted with battle armor which provides him with heightened damage resistance. Avalanche was initially recruited by Mystique as a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and remained on the team roster once the Brotherhood was modified into the government-funded Freedom Force.
