The square-jawed Captain Britain is wearing his distinctive, patriotically-themed, mystically-infused uniform, Captain Britain is one manifestation of the mystically-imbued Captain Britain Corps, a lineage of superheroes who are sometimes borrowed from alternate timeframes and alternate realities. The Brian Braddock version of Captain Britain is attached to Earth-616. The bulk of his powers, including superhuman strength, heightened stamina and durability and flight capability, are initiated by his battle suit but eventually become inherit. Early in his career Britain is pitted against adversaries such as the S.T.R.I.K.E organization. Britain’s journey to America is noteworthy for a simple misunderstanding which results in a battle between Britain and Spider-Man. After the apparent demise of the X-Men during the Fall of the Mutants storyline, Britain assembles the ream Excalibur, which includes Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, Phoenix III, and Britain’s shapeshifting girlfriend, Meggan.
