Limited to 504 pieces, the 6 ½” tall SDCC Color Version Talky Tina Bobblehead recites the following phrases: “My name is Talky Tina, and I love you very much,” and “My name is Talky Tina, and I don’t think I like you”.
In the Twilight Zone episode “Living Doll”, Talky Tina is a birthday gift given to Christie by her mother Annabelle, although Annabelle is pensive in anticipation of the reaction of Christie’s creepy sourpuss stepfather Erich. As expected, Erich is angered by the expenditure. Later, when Erich is alone with Talky Tina, Tina expresses her intensifying hatred for the stepfather and taunts him with sinister threats. Erich is initially convinced that Annabelle and/or Christie have somehow rigged the otherwise innocuous wind-up doll, and later, realizing that no such conspiracy exists, he begins to doubt his sanity. His attempts to throw the doll away and destroy the doll are met with failure. Erich’s terror reaches its crescendo when he trips on the strategically-placed Talky Tina and tumbles down the staircase to his death.
