As part of the elaborate Soul of Chogokin line, the well-articulated die-cast/plastic Voltes-V should come included with most or all of the massive and diverse arsenal attributed to his animated counterpart---missiles, bladed projectiles, chain weapons and bladed whips, and a lightning sword, as well as a stand with mounting bracket. Voltes-V has the distinctive look of the typical combiner-style robot: Cruiser 1 forms the head, Bomber 2 the shoulders/arms, Panzer 3 the upper torso, Frigate 3 the lower torso/legs, and Lander 5 the feet.
The vehicles can be utilized individually, flying, ground-based, submersible, but ultimately these components serve the purpose of combining to form the super-robot. Voltes-V is set against the evil devices of invading aliens called Boazanians. Physically, these aliens look reasonably humanoid, in which curving horns are present only as a sign of higher class status. The Boazanians have their own massive biomechanically-powered robot warriors, Beast Fighters, which makes Voltes-V---as well the diligent human team used to pilot his individual components---necessary.
