The sci-fi blockbuster Transformers broke box office records on its opening weekend in North
America in 2007. Based on the popular 1980s TV series, Transformers attracts audiences from
around the globe. The latest anticipated sequel, Transformers: The Dark of the Moon, will hit
screens on 1 July 2011 worldwide.
The Perth Mint has issued three new coloured commemoratives portraying the characters of
Megatron, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.
For thousands of years, Optimus Prime and the Autobots travelled through space in search of
the AllSpark. For Optimus Prime, nothing is more important than freedom, and his driving goal is
to protect the universe from the evil of Megatron and his Decepticon forces. He is one of the

Licensed from Hasbro, each coin is struck from 1oz of 99.9% pure silver in proof quality and
issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 5,000 Megatron coins, 5,000 Optimus Prime coins,
and 5,000 Bumblebee coins.
Each coin is housed in a clear presentation box which comes in a spectacularly illustrated
shipper, accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
